Hola Sun to fly with Transat to HOG & SNU, will continue with OWG to VRA & CCC
Starting January 15, Hola Sun customers will fly Air Transat – not OWG – to Holguín’s Frank País Airport (HOG) and the airport Abel Santamaría Cuadrado de Santa Clara – Cayo Santa Maria (SNU).
Customers of the Cuba specialists will, however, continue to fly with OWG to Juan Gualberto Gómez de Varadero Airport (VRA) and to Jardines del Rey – Cayo Coco Airport (CCC).
Departures with Air Transat to HOG will take place on Thursdays and Tuesdays, and those to SNU, on Mondays. Departures with OWG to VRA will be offered on Saturdays and those to CCC on Sundays.
Operational change
The tour operator does not explain the reasons for this operational change.
“I don't know all the details…it's an administrative decision,” said Danièle Frappier, sales manager at Caribe Sol (the Quebec arm of Hola Sun).
For its part, OWG only indicates that the decision comes from the tour operator, according to a message published for customers on its social networks.
“Please contact your travel agency if you have any questions regarding booking,” the airline said.
OWG available for other projects
In its message, OWG also points out that, since July, more than 15,000 travellers have flown on its wings.
"You've been more than generous in sharing your experience with your loved ones and on social media. This wave of love for us is turning heads and we're getting several requests to add flights to other destinations under HIGH LOVE. Thank you for your trust, we care about your satisfaction,” reads the message signed by the OWG team.
President of OWG, Marco Prud'homme, said the carrier is now able to respond to requests to add flights to other destinations.
“We had some projects that were on hold due to lack of aircraft available with the flights scheduled for Cuba. With only two destinations from Toronto and Montreal, we now have more availability to put these projects forward,” Mr. Prud'homme told PAX .
“We receive requests every week to add other destinations. The HIGH LOVE formula is highly appreciated by travellers and it is therefore a great opportunity to use this new availability and meet demand.”
