Goway launches Greece itinerary inspired by The Odyssey
Goway is inviting travellers to follow in the footsteps of one of mythology's greatest heroes with the launch of a new tailor-made itinerary through Greece.
The tour operator has introduced Odysseus's Journey: The Peloponnese & Ionian Isles, a 10-day itinerary inspired by Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey.
Beginning in Athens and ending on the island of Ithaki (Ithaca), the journey retraces the legendary route home of King Odysseus following the Trojan War.
The itinerary highlights several destinations tied to the ancient tale, including the historic city of Nafplio and nearby Mycenae, the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon, leader of the Greek forces during the Trojan War.
Travellers will also visit the ruins of Nestor's Palace, where, according to Homer's epic, Odysseus's son Telemachus searched for news of his missing father.
Other experiences include a cruise through the Ionian Sea near Corfu, waters associated with Odysseus's long voyage home, and time exploring the rugged landscapes of Lefkada and Ithaki, where archaeological sites are linked to the legendary king and his family.
“Greece is extraordinary on its own: the history, mythology, and ancient ruins speak for themselves,” says Reesa Avelino, VP, Europe South at Goway, in a press release.
“But to layer in the story of Odyssey amplifies Greece’s magic in a way that transforms sightseeing into something truly profound. Every stop on this journey is meaningful; every island has a legend. It’s the kind of travel experience that stays with you long after you’ve come home.”
The itinerary features premium accommodations and private touring, targeting travellers with an interest in history, mythology and ancient Greece, as well as fans inspired by the latest blockbuster adaptation of The Odyssey.
