Get with the group: ACV launches hands-on workshops for advisors
(Sandals Resorts)

Air Canada Vacations (ACV) is launching a new series of Groups Workshops aimed at helping travel advisors sharpen their group-selling skills and grow their business.

The interactive workshops will roll out in seven Canadian cities this fall, beginning in Toronto on Oct. 8 and concluding in Burnaby, B.C., on Nov. 10.

Developed in collaboration with a certified trainer, the program builds on Air Canada Vacations’ investments in groups technology, advisor resources, dedicated support and infrastructure.

Rather than relying primarily on presentations, the workshops will incorporate practical exercises, live demonstrations and collaborative activities, with a focus on providing information advisors can apply to their groups business.

"Groups remain one of the most valuable growth opportunities for travel advisors, and we believe the education supporting them should reflect that," said Elish Tait, manager, national accounts at ACV, in a press release. "These workshops provide advisors with direct access to the tools, knowledge, and expertise they need to confidently grow their groups business and deliver even greater value to their clients."

Become an ACV Groups Specialist

The workshops are designed for both new and experienced group sellers.

The curriculum will cover the Air Canada Vacations Groups journey, operational best practices, recent technology enhancements and strategies for identifying and converting group opportunities.

Participants will also have an opportunity to earn recognition as an Air Canada Vacations Groups Specialist, a designation recognizing advanced knowledge of the tour operator’s groups business.

"Forget sitting through hours of slides and presentations," said Dianne Pedroso, National Groups Key Account Manager, at Air Canada Vacations. "We've created a hands-on, collaborative experience that equips advisors with practical takeaways, greater confidence, and renewed excitement for growing their groups business."

Seven workshops across Canada

Attendance will be limited to approximately 75 to 100 travel advisors per session to maintain an interactive learning environment.

The workshop schedule is:

  • Oct. 8 – Toronto
  • Oct. 13 – Halifax
  • Oct. 15 – Pickering
  • Oct. 20 – Calgary
  • Oct. 22 – Mirabel
  • Nov. 3 – Québec City
  • Nov. 10 – Burnaby

Travel advisors interested in attending can register their interest through Air Canada Vacations’ Groups Workshop registration form.

Space is limited and attendance is subject to confirmation.
