G Adventures turns up the volume: DJ Earworm to headline GX Cambodia

Drop the beat!

G Adventures and its non-profit partner Planeterra have revealed new details for the 2026 GX Summit, which will bring the global travel community to Cambodia this September.

Among the latest announcements are new speakers for the World Community Tourism Summit, community tourism experiences and the headliner for GX’s closing party: world-renowned mashup artist DJ Earworm.

Based in San Francisco, DJ Earworm, also known as Jordan Roseman, will perform for 650 GX attendees at Labyrinth in Siem Reap.

Known for his annual United State of Pop series, Roseman will deliver a custom two-hour musical retrospective celebrating G Adventures’ 36-year history.

“Building a great mashup is all about taking different elements and threading them into something that’s so much greater than the sum of its parts,” said G Adventures Founder, Bruce Poon Tip, in a press release. “That’s the exact heartbeat of GX: bringing different people, places, and communities together from around the globe to build a shared experience that moves as one.”

“GX was built to celebrate the transformative impact travel can have when it’s done right, and we are so excited to bring the GX energy to Cambodia, a country defined by its incredible resilience, history, and warmth. After a week of seeing the power of travel to change lives firsthand, attendees will party into the night at the iconic closing party, and we’re pumped to welcome DJ Earworm to bring the beat.”

Community tourism takes centre stage

The GX program, which PAX is covering on location, will put community tourism in the spotlight through a range of experiences across Cambodia.

Among the activities planned is a “Festival Fair” at historic Wat Phnom, as well as a private river cruise to Silk Village, where traditional weaving generates income for local artisans.

Attendees will also have lunch at a local homestay supporting conservation efforts near the ancient temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk.

At Angkor Wat, travellers will explore by tuk tuk with Lady Tuk Tuk, an all-female team of drivers that creates earning opportunities for women. Meals at vocational restaurants supporting youth training are also part of the program.

In keeping with the G Adventures approach to GX, however, the complete itinerary will remain under wraps, with additional experiences announced during the trip.

World Community Tourism Summit returns

The week culminates on Sept. 27 with the World Community Tourism Summit, bringing together thought leaders from around the world to discuss how tourism can be a force for good.

Continuing its “non-conference” format, the event will feature performances from local artists and community groups alongside updates from G Adventures.

This year will also mark GX’s first live, on-stage podcast recording with B2B travel podcast Travel Trends.

Returning for a second year is Judy Kepher Gona of Sustainable Travel and Tourism Africa, who will deliver a keynote focused on active listening and building meaningful dialogue with local communities.

The summit will also highlight G Adventures’ recently launched National Geographic Signature with G Adventures collection.

Khadija Amahal, an Indigenous Amazigh community member and newly appointed National Geographic Expedition Expert in Morocco, will take the stage to discuss community, connection and storytelling.

Local Cambodian changemakers who have created meaningful impact in their communities will also be featured during the event.

A big finish in Siem Reap

Following the summit, wrap-up celebrations will begin at Bayon Temple, where attendees will take part in a private gathering surrounded by the temple’s famous stone faces and jungle landscape.

The festivities will then shift into party mode at Labyrinth in Siem Reap, where DJ Earworm will take the stage for the closing celebration, bringing GX attendees together on the dance floor to cap off a week dedicated to community tourism and the impact travel can have around the world.
