G Adventures & National Geographic broaden horizons with new trips

G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions are expanding their portfolio with 14 new small-group adventures, bringing the collection of National Geographic trips with G to 106 itineraries across 59 destinations.

Twelve of the new journeys introduce travellers to fresh destinations, such as China, South Korea, and the Stans, alongside expanded programs in mainland Greece, the Greek islands, the Balkans, and Mexico’s vibrant Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival.

Two additional National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures will take families to Egypt and Portugal for the first time, with departures for both styles of travel beginning in April 2026.

The National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures itineraries run from eight days to 23 days, encouraging travellers to go beyond the guidebook and immerse themselves in the people and places they encounter.

Honouring National Geographic’s tradition of science, exploration, education, and storytelling, each trip offers hands-on experiences while supporting G Adventures’ community tourism mission—creating opportunities for meaningful connections with local communities.

Highlights include exploring the mystical submerged forests of Kazakhstan’s Kaindy Lake, sharing meals with Kyrgyz nomads and Tajik breadmakers, meeting South Korea’s Haenyeo women divers on Jeju Island—some in their eighties who still freedive up to 10 metres for shellfish—hiking China’s Zhangjiajie National Park, bamboo rafting in Yangshuo, and joining the glowing altars, lively parades, and candlelit cemeteries during Mexico’s Dia de Muertos celebrations.

The new National Geographic Family Journeys are designed for parents, children, and extended families who want to spend quality time together.

Each trip blends fun with education, offering interactive food tours and Nile cruises in Egypt, and surf lessons and e-bike adventures in Portugal.
