G Adventures marks Canada Day with Geluxe Vancouver trip & Caesar guide
To celebrate Canada Day, G Adventures released its latest Canadian booking data alongside the official launch of a brand-new Geluxe domestic itinerary on Vancouver Island, designed to meet a massive 207 per cent year-over-year surge in domestic travel¹.
To celebrate these trending hotspots, the tour operator has partnered with Chef Siobhan Detkavich, Top Chef Canada alum and travel advisor, to create The Great Canadian Caesar Guide.
True to G Adventures' official company value to "embrace the bizarre," the guide maps out the country's expert-led destination picks through seven wildly-unconventional, over-the-top Caesar cocktail creations, proving that stepping off the beaten path applies to both travel itineraries and culinary adventures.
"The Caesar is a drink that’s unapologetically Canadian but seasoned by the world, so it felt like the perfect metaphor,” said David Green, VP customer and sales operations and managing director, Canada for G Adventures, in a press release.
“Being part of a diverse cultural mosaic gives Canadians a natural, built-in curiosity about the world. We don’t travel to stay in a comfortable tourism bubble; we explore with an open mind, eager to taste new flavours, understand different perspectives, and connect authentically with local communities.
“G Adventures was born right here in Canada, and our identity dictates how we show up globally in a way no other small-group travel company can replicate. We build every single itinerary around core Canadian values: empathy, openness, community and kindness. Leading with those roots means we aren't afraid to do things differently, whether that means taking travellers completely off the beaten path, or, in this case, stacking an entire charcuterie and macaron skewer onto a cocktail glass for inspiration.”
“Our spirit is shaped by global connection, but our heart is 100 per cent homegrown. This guide is a fun celebration of that exact mindset and the incredible booking momentum we’re seeing from Canadian travellers this year.”
Expert picks for Canadian travellers
The booking data highlights a strong mix of domestic growth, massive international surges, and a continuous rise in solo and expedition travel:
Vancouver Island
With a 207 per cent YoY spike in domestic travel, G Adventures continues to grow its Canadian portfolio. Marking the arrival of the newest Canadian adventure, the operator is officially launching a Geluxe itinerary to Vancouver Island today.
This elevated journey blends active outdoor exploration with elevated stays, rich coastal culture, and powerful Indigenous storytelling told directly by local keepers of the land.
The Caesar story
Inspired by Indigenous culture, Chef Siobhan Detkavich, of Cowichan Tribes, created this cocktail as a love letter to her home-region. The drink incorporates foraging elements like morel mushrooms and juicy blackberries, while elderberry syrup sweetens the base.
Fresh bannock, wild boar and bison pâté, a smoked salmon ribbon and a totem pole top the glass, while a charcoal and cedar-smoked sea salt lines the rim.
China
Experiencing a massive resurgence (+141 per cent), Canadian bookings have skyrocketed. While classic bucket-list landmarks remain strong, travellers are shifting heavily toward culinary immersion, with experiences on tour such as hands-on dumpling-making classes at the base of the Great Wall and community dining at Planeterra partner, Jia Community Restaurant.
The Caesar story
Expanding on immersive food experiences, this creation infuses the base with the savory depth of soy and a splash of Baijiu (China’s national spirit). It features a dumpling skewer brushed with Szechuan chili oil, an array of delicate pastries, and a playful panda bao bun - a direct nod to the Giant Panda research center visit featured on select itineraries. To finish, crispy wonton sheets are arranged to mimic the winding stone steps G Adventures travellers traverse along the Great Wall.
France
France has secured its spot as a top-five destination Canadians are headed to this summer (+30 per cent³). Adding to this growth are immersive itineraries that deliberately steer travellers beyond the traditional tourist tracks. Standouts include active walking tours through the historic vineyards of Burgundy and a brand-new Local Living Toulouse itinerary, perfectly capturing the lucrative “slow travel” movement by letting travellers unpack once, explore local markets daily, and live like true locals.
The Caesar story
Designed to evoke the feeling of sitting at a locally owned countryside bistro, this sophisticated creation blends traditional vodka with a rich Cabernet Sauvignon; a nod to the local wine regions explored on G Adventures' itineraries. The glass is finished with a delicate rim of flaky salt, thyme, rosemary, and lavender buds, then stacked with a mini-charcuterie build of Gruyère, cornichons, and cured meats. A fresh baguette slice acts as a shelf for colorful macarons and a classic French madeleine.
Morocco
Solo travel among Canadians is up 15 per cent YoY4, with women making up 72 per cent4 of those bookings. For the Solo-ish travel style, which aims to take the intimidation out of travelling alone by building an immediate group community from day one, Morocco comes in as the most booked destination for Canadians this year5. Crucially, this female-dominated travel trend creates a direct circle of support on the ground, connecting solo travellers to life-changing, women-led community tourism projects like the AFER Women’s Association in rural M’Hayato.
The Caesar story
This vibrant, non-alcoholic Caesar blends earthy carrot and tomato juices with fresh orange, lemon, and a fiery kick of harissa to mirror the bold, layered flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Topping it with a mezze-style caravan skewer with kefta meatballs, marinated olives, and sweet dates stuffed with goat cheese is a direct nod to the communal tables and women-led culinary projects that bring travellers together across the country.

Peru
Solidifying its status as an enduring favorite, Peru is G Adventures’ top-booked destination for Canadians for the third straight year6. To help agents capitalize on this sustained demand, G Adventures offers nearly 70 diverse itineraries that cater to every travel preference, including the challenging high-altitude Lares Trek, leisure-focused glass-domed train journeys to Machu Picchu, and breathtaking sunrise views over Lake Titicaca at a local homestay.
The Caesar story
This vibrant creation trades vodka for Pisco (Peru’s national brandy) and adds a bright kick of aji amarilo paste inside a glass misted with aromatic Andean muña tea. Highlighting the trip's built-in community impact, the tea is sourced directly from the Parwa Community Restaurant, a Planeterra social enterprise featured on many G Adventures itineraries. It’s garnished with charred corn, pickled carrot ribbons, and a towering skewer of a spiralized tornado potato with real flowers; an artistic nod to the lush agricultural terraces G travellers explore on tour.
Dominica
Shaking up traditional Caribbean travel, G Adventures has officially entered Dominica, becoming the first global small-group operator to launch itineraries on the island. Moving travellers away from standard cruise crowds or fly-and-flop beach holidays, these brand-new premium Geluxe trips immerse travellers in the ‘Nature Island’s’ pristine terrain, offering active hiking through volcanic parks, snorkeling among underwater volcanic bubbles, and rare, responsible swims with resident sperm whales.
The Caesar story
An exotic, ocean-inspired Caesar built on a base of Caribbean rum, coconut water, and a dash of fiery Scotch Bonnet hot sauce, balanced by a hint of tart tamarind syrup and warm allspice. It’s served in a glass rimmed with sea salt, dried thyme, tajin, and lime zest, then stacked with a tropical, gravity-defying skewer of grilled pineapple, jerk shrimp, fried plantain, and a large flower.
The Arctic
Captured by the allure of the polar wilderness, Canadians are booking the newly relaunched Arctic routes aboard the G Expedition in record numbers. Depending on the route, highlights include exploring remote ice channels, tracking polar bears, and embarking on Zodiac excursions alongside expert naturalists, scientists and photographers. For clients seeking an extra thrill, a limited number of spaces are available to view the 2026 eclipse in the path of totality from the ship’s deck.
The Caesar Story
A crisp, chilling masterpiece designed as an ode to the vast polar landscape and the G Expedition ship that traverses it. The refreshing base adds fresh cucumber juice, a whisper of muddled dill, horseradish, and a touch of pickle brine, poured over a glacial-sized square ice cube. The glass is rimmed with a frosty mix of coarse salt and cucumber foam to mimic the frothy waters the ship’s hull carves through. An elegant garnish of shaved smoked salmon, cucumber ribbon, and a cube of Nordic cheese finishes it off.
A call to the advisor community
As travel preferences shift toward hyper-customization and live events, G Adventures is encouraging its travel agent partners to use this campaign as an opportunity to disrupt traditional sales tactics.
By leaning into the "embrace the bizarre" ethos, the tour operator is encouraging agents to think outside the traditional travel box to capture client attention in a crowded marketplace.
"We want our agent community to look at this campaign as a license to be boldly unconventional," said Green. "In a world of generic holiday emails, sending a client an over-the-top, destination-themed Caesar recipe paired with a 207 per cent domestic surge stat is how you cut through the noise. Embracing the bizarre isn't just a fun slogan; it's a legitimate business tactic. It sparks conversations, showcases your personality as an advisor, and positions you as the gatekeeper to the exact kind of unique, off-the-beaten-path local experiences modern travellers are craving."
Where the world meets community tourism
True to G Adventures’ community tourism model, each of these trending itineraries is designed to connect travellers directly to the people and neighborhoods that make these places so unique. Every trip featured in the guide includes experiences that support local social enterprises through G Adventures' non-profit partner, Planeterra, and Trees for Days, ensuring Canadian travel dollars make a tangible, positive impact on the ground.
