G Adventures' Change Makers returns; GX Summit set "to be even more epic" this year
G Adventures popular agent reward program, Change Makers, is returning this year, with 15 Canadian agents earning a space at the community tourism pioneer’s Change Makers GX Summit, which will take place later in the year.
Last year, the Canadian tour operator hosted its first-ever community tourism summit, called “GX,” in Peru, giving more than 400 attendees an opportunity to not only see what the company does on the ground, but to also engage in conversations about community tourism – a touring model that G has pioneered since its formation in 1990.
Agents will be able to earn their way to this year's Change Makers GX Summit, which will be held in a yet-to-be-revealed destination.
The 15 agents will be a part of a contingent of 75 winners from around the globe who will be brought together to celebrate the impact of community tourism.

The Change Makers challenge goes live on Feb. 1 and runs until May 31, 2024 (terms and conditions apply).
The campaign encourages agents to focus on changing people's lives through travel by booking G Adventures trips.
Agents who successfully earn a place at the Change Makers GX Summit will see firsthand how their work directly impacts local communities in the destinations G Adventures visits.
The Change Makers reward programme runs alongside both the G-Normous and You Belong with G Experience initiatives, with all three designed to support G's community of agents in changing lives through the booking of the small group operator’s trips around the world.
To be eligible to earn a space, agents automatically receive one entry per "life changed"/ traveller booked.
The top 10 agents from each region will qualify, with an additional five "wildcard" spaces available to each region to allocate to agents who commit to changing someone’s life by making at least one G Adventures booking, as well as meeting certain wildcard incentive rules.
The wildcard challenges for 2024 include completing G-learning training modules, fundraising for G Adventures’ non-profit partner, Planeterra, opportunities for “first time” booking agents to win a place at the sought-after GX Summit, as well as an overall reward for the agent who’s changed the most lives from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
There are still plenty of surprises to be revealed for the event, where agents will see their impact in action.
Highlights include visits to ‘G for Good’ community tourism projects built together with Planeterra, as well as destination highlights to help agents build their product knowledge.
David Green, managing director for G Adventures in Canada, says he’s beyond excited to bring back Change Makers for another year, and to welcome agents to G Adventures’ third Change Makers GX Summit.
“Last year’s Change Makers Summit was the most phenomenal event G Adventures has ever hosted, especially being a part of the inaugural GX Summit. There’s nothing more rewarding for me than seeing our global community of agents come together to celebrate our success and the impact we have on improving lives in the countries we take our travellers to. This year is set to be even more epic, and I can’t wait to host our Canadian agents - and to reveal more details in due course," stated Green in a news release.
“We are 100 per cent committed to our agency partners and are their biggest champions. We now have three incredible campaigns in the market to encourage our agency community to change more lives through travel - 2024 is off to a rocking start."
The 2024 Change Makers Challenge is live now and runs until May 31, 2024.
