In appreciation of its travel advisors across Canada, G Adventures has increased the number of FAMs it will be running in 2025 to 12, including six trips that are open to all agents, and six that will be run exclusively with partners.

The six trips open for agents at "heavily discounted" prices will take place in Costa Rica, the Galápagos, Greece, Japan, New Zealand or Thailand. Agents will need to be quick, however, as applications close on Nov. 1, 2024.

As communicated on a webinar this week that was attended by more than 500 Canadian travel agents – 100 more than last year’s webinar – G Adventures’ FAM trips also give agents the opportunity to see firsthand how community tourism changes the lives of local people in the communities visited on the trips.

David Green, managing director for G Adventures in Canada, said he’s delighted to be able to take even more agents away on fam trips next year, with the number of trips being raised from 2024.

“Experiencing a destination firsthand is truly the best way for agents to attain true sense of a place in order to be able to best sell it to the right customer. On our FAM trips we go beyond the usual sights however, and really get into the heart of a place and its people. As the pioneers of community tourism, we also ensure our agents see the good they are doing in the world when they book their customer on a G Adventures trip,” Green said in a press release.

“I’m also delighted that we have the support from two tourist boards this year. Air New Zealand will be funding flights for what is sure to be a coveted New Zealand FAM trip, and the Costa Rica Tourism Board is supporting our visit as part of its strategy to attract more Canadians to its beautiful country.”

Agents who would like to explore with G Adventures beyond these exclusive FAM trips are still able to experience G Adventures tours by taking advantage of the ‘up to 50 per cent off’ preferred agent discount, with information available on Sherpa.
