Disney plans expansion of MyMagic+

Following its initial success at Walt Disney World, Disney’s mobile technology program will be expanded to other parks in the future.

According to Reuters, Disney COO Tom Staggs said the MyMagic+ program will appear in some form at other Disney resorts in the near future. Staggs was quoted as saying the expanded program could see the incorporation of the Magic Band technology (currently in use at Florida’s Walt Disney World, where the MyMagic+ program began), and that the company has considered supporting the use of other wearable tech such as the Apple Watch, the report said.

Since launching in late 2013, more than 11 million guests at Walt Disney World have used the Magic Bands to bypass line-ups for attractions and make in-park purchases through the program.
