Dinosaur Trips, a company the hosts dinosaur and paleontology-focused travel expeditions, has announced the dates for its 2024 North American trips.

The journeys, which first debuted last year, promise to “ignite your inner paleontologist and captivate adventurers of all ages,” according to a press release.

1. Route 66 Million Years Ago - Arizona & California: May 2-10

A 9-day odyssey through the majestic terrains of Arizona and California, where prehistoric footprints converge with modern marvels. Led by the charismatic and compelling Dr. Brian Curtice, paleontologist and founder of Fossil Crates, Route 66 Million Years Ago is a journey through rocks and time. 

Highlights include the Arizona Museum of Natural History, Petrified Forest National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Western Science Center, Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology, Universal Studios, La Brea Tar Pits & Museum, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and more.

2. Red Rocks & Raptors - Utah & Colorado: May 13-20

Dr. Brian Curtice will also guide guests on this unforgettable 8-day expedition to unearth the secrets of the past in the rugged landscapes of Utah and Colorado, home to some of the most significant dinosaur discoveries, unbelievable wildlife experiences, and jaw-dropping panoramas that will stick with you for a lifetime. 

Highlights include the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life, Great Salt Lake & Antelope Island, Brigham Young University Museum of Paleontology, Natural History Museum of Utah, Utah Geological Survey, Dinosaur National Monument, Utah Field House of Natural History State Park, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, and more.

3. Alberta Badlands & Beyond - Alberta: June 30-July 13 | July 15-28

Embark on one of two 14-day adventures across Alberta, where fossils and stunning vistas await. You’ll get hands-on experience digging for dinosaur bones on a genuine fossil dig in northern Alberta, experience the “Dinosaur Capital of the World” in Drumheller, and rub shoulders with some of the greatest minds working in paleontology and dinosaur research today. 

Highlights include Dinosaur Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, University of Alberta Paleontology Museum, Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, a two-day dinosaur dig, horseback trail ride, Rat’s Nest Cave, a Canadian Rocky Mountain spa experience, and more.

4. Alberta Badlands Family Adventure - Alberta: July 30-August 6

This family-friendly week-long adventure welcomes guests of all ages for a vacation experience that promises to inspire young and old imaginations alike. 

Led by paleontologist and certified fossil preparator Bethany Burke of BK Bones, this itinerary was crafted to educate, entertain, and enthrall as guests explore the world of dinosaurs across this epic western Canadian province. Highlights include Prehistoric Park at the Calgary Zoo, Dinosaur Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, and more.

5. Montana Family Adventure: August 9-17

○ Calling all families with little paleontologists in the making for a week of bonding and revelations against the backdrop of Big Sky Country. Get ready to bring cowboy and dinosaur dreams alike to life as you explore the Montana Dinosaur Trail and more, again led by BK Bones’ own Bethany Burke, on an itinerary where families can create lasting memories surrounded by paleontology discoveries and unparalleled natural beauty. 

Highlights include Montana Dinosaur Center, Museum of the Rockies, East Glacier National Park, bonafide cowboy experiences, Yellowstone National Park, an authentic dinosaur dig, and more.
