Canadian embassy reopened in Brussels
The Consular section of the embassy has resumed regular operations once again in Brussels, according to a tweet sent out by Travel.gc.ca.
While there is no nationwide advisory in effect for Belgium on the website, the Government of Belgium maintains a public alert system on terrorism, with the threat level currently at level four for Brussels and level three for the rest of the country, on a scale from 1 to 4.
Belgian authorities recommend that the public avoid places with high concentration of people in the Brussels region, and to expect enhanced security measures as well as an increase in police presence.
