Air Canada posts record full-year results for 2014

Air Canada has reported full-year adjusted net income of $531 million for 2014 - a substantial increase from the $340 million in 2013 and an improvement of $191 million contributing to a record full year financial performance.
Approximately three million more customers flew with the carrier for a total of 38.5 million, including three million passengers on rouge, said Calin Rovinescu, president & CEO.
The unfavourable impact of a weaker Canadian dollar on foreign currency denominated operating expenses (mainly U.S. dollars) in 2014, when compared to 2013, increasing operating expenses by approximately $397 million.
For the fourth quarter of 2014, adjusted net income of $67 million increased from $64 million from the same quarter of 2013.
