African Travel doubles small-group portfolio for 2027, returns to Uganda
African Travel, Inc. (ATI) is expanding its Africa offerings for 2027, doubling its Locally Hosted Small Group portfolio while adding new Tailor-Made journeys, accommodations and experiences across East and Southern Africa.
The collection, unveiled in a new digital brochure, arrives as African Travel marks 50 years of specializing exclusively in travel to Africa.
For 2027, the company is giving travellers a wider choice between professionally planned small-group journeys, with departures guaranteed for as few as two guests, and highly personalized Tailor-Made trips.
“What we’ve learned over 50 years is that there is no single way to experience Africa,” said Guy Young, CEO, TTC Africa Division, in a press release. “Some travellers want every detail designed around them, while others want the ease and camaraderie of traveling with a small group.”
“Our 2027 collection gives advisors more ways to match the experience to the traveler, backed by the Africa expertise and local relationships we’ve spent five decades building.”
Small-group portfolio doubles
African Travel will offer six Locally Hosted Small Group itineraries across East and Southern Africa in 2027, including three new journeys.
A Taste of South Africa is an eight-day itinerary priced from $7,695 per person, combining flexible sightseeing in Cape Town with game viewing in a private Kruger reserve. Travellers can extend the journey to Victoria Falls, Botswana’s Chobe National Park or the beaches of Mozambique.
Timeless Kenya & Tanzania Safari, meanwhile, is a 12-day journey priced from $12,995 per person, combining two of East Africa’s best-known safari destinations with year-round wildlife viewing.
The new Wild Botswana & Victoria Falls itinerary is a 10-day journey priced from $12,935 per person, travelling from the Kalahari to the Okavango Delta before continuing to Victoria Falls.
New Tailor-Made journeys
ATI is also growing its Tailor-Made portfolio with several new itineraries.
Kenya Romance: From Bush to Beach combines safari experiences in some of Kenya’s leading wildlife regions with an Indian Ocean beach stay, while Ultimate South Africa pairs safari experiences in two private game reserves with time in Cape Town.
Cape Town & Botswana combines the culture and energy of Cape Town with two safari regions in Botswana and includes accommodations such as the recently updated Xugana Island Lodge.
Uganda returns to the lineup
The 2027 collection also marks African Travel’s return to Uganda after an absence of several years.
The destination offers a range of wildlife experiences, including mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimpanzee encounters in Kibale Forest and safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls.
Across its 2027 collection, the company is also introducing new and refreshed accommodations and experiences designed to connect travellers with Africa’s landscapes, wildlife, people and cultures.
