Rail Europe expands Italy portfolio with Campania Express

Rail Europe has expanded its Italian rail offering with the addition of Campania Express, providing travel professionals and API partners with an additional rail option for some of southern Italy's most popular destinations, including Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento.

Through agent.raileurope.com, Rail Europe's dedicated platform for travel professionals, and via Rail Europe's API, Campania Express operates on the historic Circumvesuviana railway line linking Naples with key destinations across the Campania region.

Italy remains one of the most popular destinations booked through Rail Europe, the company said in a press release.

The addition of Campania Express complements the company's existing Italian portfolio, helping travel professionals offer international visitors greater choice when travelling across one of the country's most visited regions.

Campania Express gives travel professionals access to rail journeys connecting Naples with several major tourism hubs, including:

• Naples – Herculaneum (Ercolano)

• Naples – Vico Equense

• Naples – Sorrento

The service stops at Napoli Porta Nolana, Napoli Piazza Garibaldi, Ercolano Scavi-Vesuvio, Pompei Scavi-Villa dei Misteri, Castellammare di Stabia, Vico Equense, Meta di Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento, Sant'Agnello and Sorrento.

Designed specifically for leisure travellers, Campania Express offers reserved seating, air conditioning and dedicated luggage space. With fewer intermediate stops than regular local services operating on the same corridor, it provides a comfortable and visitor-friendly way to explore the region.

Campania Express is available as a standalone regional rail product, complementing Rail Europe's wider portfolio of national, international and rail pass offerings.
