Xavier Szwengler is leaving Air Transat after 10 years; Garcí Iñigo named successor
Xavier Szwengler has announced his departure from Air Transat. (Transat)

Xavier Szwengler has announced his departure from Air Transat, where he had worked for ten years, according to a post on LinkedIn.

Szwengler saw his responsibilities at the company expanded in 2025 as part of a reorganization of Transat’s commercial leadership, following the announcement of Joseph Adamo’s retirement.

Already in charge of marketing and loyalty programs, he had taken on responsibility for the digital experience teams, contact centres, and Air Transat’s commercial operations, under the title of vice president, marketing and distribution.

In his post, writing in French, Szwengler reflects on his journey at the company. “Ten years. It’s both long and short when you look back,” he writes.

“At Air Transat, I had the opportunity to lead a complete marketing transformation, build a team I am deeply proud of, and contribute to a brand that millions of Canadians hold close to their hearts,” he wrote.

Szwengler thanks several Transat executives, including Annick Guérard, for “her leadership and the trust placed in me.” He also highlights the role of Joseph Adamo, Geneviève LeBrun, Susan Bowman, and Bruno Leclaire, whom he describes as “exceptional leaders.”

Successor confirmed for April 27

Szwengler also states that Garcí Iñigo (currently vice president of marketing and loyalty at Air Transat) will officially take over on April 27.

“You have everything it takes to write the next chapter of this organization. I pass you the torch with pride and confidence,” Szwengler wrote.

Mr. Szwengler concluded by mentioning that “a new chapter is opening” for him, adding that he will share more details soon.
