After 40 years in the travel industry, Wendy Paradis officially wrapped up her career on Thursday (July 10), signing off as ACTA’s president after nine years at the helm, and starting a new chapter: retirement.

She spent her last day with more than 200 travel pros at ACTA’s 35th annual golf tournament at the Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton, ON.

“I’m really looking forward to having some free time,” Paradis told PAX at the event. “I’m also really excited about the travel industry’s upcoming leaders. I‘m happy to step aside and let the next generation take over. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do.”

Her first day was yesterday, and after a warm introduction to the industry during a day of networking on a golf course, she’s enthusiastic about getting started.

Later on, during a dinner, Paradis shared some final thoughts with attendees, praising her ACTA colleagues as "the absolutely best, most engaged team,” highlighting their dedication to making a difference for members.

“I couldn't have worked with a greater group of people,” said Paradis, expressing confidence in their future under Acton-Gervais’ leadership.

Earlier, PAX caught up with Paradis to learn more about her retirement plans, her most memorable and challenging moments at ACTA, and her advice for the association's new president.
