TravelBrands’ Elvi Cal & Lina Côté to retire this summer
TravelBrands has announced the retirement of two esteemed industry leaders, Elvi Cal and Lina Côté, who will retire this year after decades of dedicated service to the travel industry.
“Their extraordinary careers and lasting contributions have left an indelible mark on both TravelBrands and the broader travel landscape,” the company said in a press release.
"I truly believe that the success of any organization is built on the strength of its people, and today we honour two of the greatest I’ve had the privilege of working with throughout my career,” added Nathalie Tanious, president and CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc., parent company of TravelBrands), in the release.
“Elvi and Lina’s commitment, passion, and leadership have not only shaped who we are, but also paved the way for where we’re headed. Their legacy is woven into every success we’ve achieved, and their influence will continue to resonate long after they’ve moved on. It has been a joy to work alongside them, and I know I speak for everyone when I say that our accomplishments are deeply tied to their contributions. Thank you, Elvi and Lina, for everything you’ve given us. I wish you both a retirement filled with relaxation, joy, and, of course, travel."
Cal, senior vice president, product and commercial, will retire on July 31, 2025, after 38 years.
“Elvi has been a cornerstone of TravelBrands, spearheading product innovation, building strategic partnerships, and leading with integrity and passion. His deep expertise and collaborative approach have played a pivotal role in defining TravelBrands’ success,” the company said. “For many, Elvi has not only been a leader but also a mentor and a trusted colleague.”
“While Elvi will retire from his full-time position, he will continue to support TravelBrands as an independent consultant. His continued involvement will provide invaluable insights and ensure that the strong relationships he built over the years are sustained."
Côté, director of sales at TravelBrands will retire June 30, 2025, after 23 years.
"Lina has been an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working with her. Throughout her 43-year career in the travel industry, with nearly half of that time spent at TravelBrands, she has been “a steadfast advocate for travel agents,” said TravelBrands.
“Known for her calm demeanour and results-driven approach, Lina has earned the respect of her colleagues and peers alike. Her dedication to supporting and empowering travel agents, along with her genuine care for people and deep respect for the travel industry, have been central to her success. In retirement, Lina will continue to contribute as an independent consultant, providing valuable expertise and support,” said the company.
TravelBrands extends its heartfelt thanks for their dedication, hard work, and the lasting legacies they leave behind.
“Their influence has touched not only TravelBrands but the travel industry as a whole,” the company said. “We invite all industry partners, travel agents, and friends to join us in celebrating their careers. Announcements regarding new appointments and leadership responsibilities will follow, the company said.
