Travel industry invited to honour Casey Canevari on Dec. 4

Discover America Canada is inviting the travel industry to join it in honouring the memory of its dear friend and industry partner Casey Canevari at the annual U.S. Thanksgiving/Holiday Season event taking place on Dec. 4, 2025.

A “cherished” non-voting board member at Discover America Canada, Casey – who was director, global trade development for Canada at Brand USA – was a “unifying force in the industry and played an important role in helping to shape the organization’s events, membership growth and partnerships,” the association said in a press release.

His sudden passing earlier this year left a profound impact on the Canada-U.S. travel community and his passion for connecting people and unwavering support of Canadian partners helped strengthen the bridge between Canada and U.S. travel.

Discover America Canada says it is working closely with Casey’s family and Brand USA to ensure that their event reflects the spirit of the man “we all admired." 

Casey’s wife, Christine, will also join Discover American Canada at their event.

“We welcome all travel industry colleagues who knew and worked with Casey to join us in remembering his warmth, generosity, and the impact he made on both our industry and our hearts,” the organization said.

Discover America Canada will have a special memory box for guests in attendance to contribute any stories or tributes about Casey – a memento for Casey’s family to read through on their own time and recognize the impact he made in our Canadian travel industry. 

They’ve also shared a fundraising link that his family created called the Canevari Memorial Fund, set up in support of his children’s college savings, as well as a support/scholarship fund for future travel/tourism professionals.

Discover America Canada is encouraging attendees to wear the colour purple to raise awareness of epilepsy in Casey’s honour.

The event takes place in Toronto on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. EST at Radisson Blu, 249 Queens Quay W.
