Michael Pihach is an award-winning journalist with a keen interest in digital storytelling. Tarik Achab Zekri has joined Qatar Airways as a senior account manager for Canada, PAX has learned.

Based in Montreal, Achab Zekri, a former market manager at Aeromexico, will manage and grow Qatar Airways’ sales portfolio in Canada.

His duties include managing relationships with Qatar Airways’ customers, developing a consistent approach to local and multinational dealing, and driving maximum revenue.

He will also engage in joint sales and marketing activities, manage and co-ordinate sales projects and initiatives, and represent the Doha-based carrier at trade events.

Prior to Aeromexico, Achab Zekri worked at Expo 2020 Dubai as a deputy director of international B2B Sales. Here, he was responsible for the international sales strategy as well as marketing and communication campaigns, with the various major players in the tourism and travel sector.

He also previously worked for Marriott International in Abu Dhabi.

Achab Zekri holds a Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies and an MBA in Tourism and Leisure Management. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Arabic.
