Sandra Pennington departs Celebrity after more than a decade

Sandra Pennington is moving on from Celebrity Cruises after more than 10 years with the company.

In a post shared on her Facebook page Tuesday (July 7), Pennington announced that she is leaving her role as field sales manager, ending a ten-and-a-half-year run with the cruise line.

“It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for the relationships, friendships, and memories made along the way,” Pennington wrote.

Pennington also expressed appreciation for her colleagues and the experiences they shared throughout her time with the company.

"I’m also incredibly thankful to my colleagues at Celebrity Cruises who made these years so rewarding. Together, we celebrated successes, navigated challenges, and created experiences I’ll always cherish,” she wrote.

“Thank you for making the last 10½ years so meaningful. I will always be grateful for this journey and for each of you who made it so special."

Pennington has been a familiar face in the travel advisor community throughout her decade with Celebrity, working closely with travel agency partners in her territory of Western Ontario.

And cruising has been in Pennington's blood for decades. Before joining Celebrity, she spent more than a decade at Flight Centre, including four years as a cruise development manager.

Earlier in her career, in the late 1990s, she worked aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's ships.

While Pennington did not reveal where she’s going next, she indicated that an announcement is imminent. 

“While this chapter is coming to a close, I’m excited for what lies ahead and look forward to announcing shortly where I am headed,” she wrote. “You will see me soon!”
