Jeff Carpenter joins Royal Caribbean as strategic account manager for Western Canada

The Royal Caribbean International (RCI) team in Canada is welcoming a new (but familiar) face.

Jeff Carpenter has joined the cruise line as a strategic account manager for Western Canada, PAX has learned.

The news was announced in a company memo shared by Lisa Connell, RCI’s director of sales for Canada, on Monday (Jan. 8).

Carpenter, a former business development manager at TravelBrands, fills a role that was previously held by Leanne Hill, who sadly passed away last October.

“My colleagues are thrilled that Jeff has joined our company,” Connell wrote. “I know he is no stranger to you, and I'm sure you'll agree that Jeff is the perfect fit to takeover from our beloved Leanne. Leanne and Jeff worked closely together, and I know he will continue the success she built.”

“Jeff has loved working with travel partners in the past, building great friendships and partnerships along the way, and he is eager to foster new relationships with each of you. He has also travelled extensively during his career, and some of his favourite memories include trips to the Caribbean, French Polynesia, Thailand, Egypt and Europe.”

In a message posted to his Facebook page, Carpenter wrote that he is “thrilled” to start a new chapter in his career after 20 years.

“My dear friend Leanne, you are so deeply missed and can never be replaced. I can only hope to continue the amazing job you've done representing the brand. It feels bittersweet, but I hope in some way you are smiling down,” Carpenter wrote.

He also had a message for his longtime family at TravelBrands.

“It's been a fun ride!” Carpenter wrote. “I will miss you all so much, but I'm happy that our paths will still cross at events and conferences, and that I can still work as a partner to TravelBrands/Encore Cruises.”

He looks forward to "continuing to work with all the amazing travel agents I've come to know and love over the years!" 

"2024 is going to be incredible…I can't wait!” he wrote. 

When he's not busy being a road warrior, Carpenter enjoys relaxing with his family at their lake house and spending quality time with his six nephews who keep him very busy and entertained.

Connell noted that Carpenter will be in training and attending events on Icon of the Seas (RCI’s new ship, which makes its North American debut this week) until early February.

Carpenter will be working alongside Germain Marchand, business development support, and will also work closely with Chantal Rodriguez, senior account executive, sales development for Western Canada.
