Islington Travel’s Lina Matturo awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal

Lina Matturo, owner of Toronto-based Islington Travel, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her outstanding community service spanning more than four decades.
“This recognition is not just for me, but for the collective effort of every individual who contributes their time, energy, and passion to making our community a better place,” Matturo said in a press release issued by TRAVELSAVERS Canada, her consortium.
For more than 45 years, Matturo has been a trusted leader and pillar of support in her community.
Beyond being a travel expert, she has devoted her time to local outreach programs, Canadian citizenship classes and served on numerous community boards.
“Her efforts have strengthened and uplifted countless individuals, and through trust, connection and resilience, she continues to be a driving force of positive change,” said TRAVELSAVERS.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a commemorative medal awarded by the Canadian government to recognize individuals for their significant contributions to Canada, their province, territory, region, or community. It was created to mark the coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2023.
