Duncan Bureau joins Farenexus Group as chief commercial officer
Duncan Bureau has joined the Farenexus Group as chief commercial officer, effective March 5, according to a news release.
In this newly-created role, Bureau will be responsible for partnership development and revenue growth generated through all sales channels, from all points of sale. He will report directly to Ravi Panwar, Farenexus' CEO and founder.
Previously chief commercial officer at Canada Jetlines, Bureau has extensive airline industry sales and product distribution experience in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to Jetlines, Bureau worked at Etihad Airlines as SVP of sales and distribution; Air Canada as VP, global sales and distribution; Air Canada Rouge as president; Malaysia Airlines as SVP, sales and distribution; and WestJet as VP, sales and distribution.
"I am pleased to announce Duncan Bureau's appointment in this key role where he will be focused on expanding the markets and customers in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East," said Panwar in a statement.
"Duncan has the proven talent, leadership skills and broad industry experience in sales, business development and product distribution globally, which makes him the right candidate for this role as we continue to on board strategic partners, including airlines, corporate travel management companies, travel agents and distribution partners, to create new business opportunities and continue to innovate the way air travel is sold using the extensive Farenexus suite of products and services.”
"An entirely new experience"
In a statement to PAX, Bureau said his new role will be "an entirely new experience for me where I will have the opportunity to align my passion for learning, innovation, technology and travel."
"The team at Farenexus continues to demonstrate thought leadership while pushing boundaries in the travel industry," he said.
The Farenexus Group is an IT consultancy and travel services company based in Montreal.
It's the tech company that built the platform that powers Air Canada’s AC Connex NDC booking platform for travel agency partners.
