Discover the World wishes Karen Evans a happy retirement
The team at Discover the World is wishing "happy retirement" to its very own Karen Evans after an amazing 30 year career with the company.
Evans' first role in the industry was with Wardair in 1989 where she started in customer service and quickly progressed to the commercial team, before moving on to Canadian Airlines in 1991 as a sales manager.
In March of 1994, Evans was lured over to Discover the World by Joanne Lundy, the long-term owner of the company, where she soared with a great team in an ever changing industry. Evans is leaving the company at a "perfectly rounded 30 years in March this year," the company said in a news release.
Evans has represented several top clients, including BMI, LOT Polish Airlines and more recently with SATA Azores Airlines.
She worked many years on marketing projects, sponsored events and golf tournaments on behalf of Star Alliance while representing LOT.
She is perhaps best known for her passionate (and often note-free) delivery of captivating presentations of the products and services of her clients.
"In the case of SATA, she would have you booking a ticket to the Azores within a few minutes of her description of this unique and very special destination," said Discover the World.
Evans will be succeeded in her role as National Sales Manager for SATA by her colleague Andrea Thornton.
"Andrea has also had a long and successful career with Discover the World and has worked alongside Karen for many years," the company noted.
