Air Canada Vacations (ACV) has announced the upcoming retirement of Lucy Sabella, vice president of operations, effective August 1, 2025.

“Lucy’s impact on Air Canada Vacations is immeasurable. Her leadership, integrity, and deep commitment to both our people and our partners will leave a lasting legacy” said Nino Montagnese, VP, Air Canada Vacations, in a press release. “She’s been a driving force behind our evolution and a steady, inspiring presence through decades of change. On behalf of the entire organization, I want to thank Lucy for 39 incredible years and wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter.”

Sabella’s 39-year career at Air Canada Vacations reflects remarkable growth, resilience, and people-centred leadership.

Starting in customer relations, she progressed through the organization to become vice president of operations, helping modernize systems, improve the customer experience, and strengthen industry partnerships, says ACV.

“She inspired teams across the organization and leaves a meaningful impact as a mentor, leader, and change maker.”

Air Canada Vacations has also announced the appointment of Sylvia Costa as senior director, operations, effective August 1, 2025.

Costa brings strong operational expertise and leadership experience, having served as director, customer contact centre excellence at Air Canada since 2022 and having previously led key departments at Air Canada Vacations as director, customer experience (2014–2022) and interim head of operations (2019–2020).

Her collaborative style and commitment to service excellence make her well equipped to lead the operations team forward, says ACV.

“With her proven track record and strong commitment to teamwork and outstanding service, Sylvia is perfectly positioned to lead our Operations team,” said Montagnese. “We are confident she will play a key role in driving continued success for Air Canada Vacations.”
