ZEL Punta Cana, a Rafael Nadal & Melia collab, officially opens

ZEL, a new lifestyle brand by Meliá Hotels and sports star Rafael Nadal, has officially unbolted its doors in the Dominican Republic.

Blending relaxation, sports, fitness, and social connection, the resort debuted in December 2024 and officially celebrated its grand opening celebration on March 7

Located 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, the hotel offers promises a hospitality experience that combines the Mediterranean lifestyle with the island charm of the Caribbean.

A short stroll from Bávaro Beach, ZEL Punta Cana features 190 nature-inspired all suites, including, Master Suites, and Swim-Up Suites with private gardens leading directly to the pool.

With guests from four countries, including prominent figures, socialites, celebrities, media, and influencers, the four-day grand opening festivities were a celebration of wellness, adventure, and gastronomy at ZEL Punta Cana.

Attendees experienced a wide range of wellness activities, from luxe spa treatments at the onsite AUA Spa and invigorating ice baths and yoga sessions to aquatic excursions like catamaran sailing and paddle board yoga, creating the perfect blend of wellness and adventure.

Grand opening attendees indulged in the resort’s fine-dining culinary offerings, celebrating a variety of vibrant dining experiences.

Guests savoured the wood-fired flavours at Volcán, where the aroma of sizzling meats and fresh herbs created an immersive dining experience.

At Nokyo, they experienced the fusion of Japanese minimalism and Mediterranean charm, enjoying a carefully curated selection of Japanese dishes.

Parda, a Mediterranean-style all day dining and beach club, delighted guests with its locally inspired cuisine, showcasing the essence of the ZEL brand through local fresh ingredients.

At Tacorini, attendees, enjoyed a harmonious blend of Mexican folklore and Greek elegance, indulging in a unique combination of tacos and gyros.

Wine enthusiasts gathered at Silvestre, beautifully sunlit winery featuring a hand-selected collection of fine wines and spirits.

Meanwhile, guests sipped signature cocktails at Voltaje, a lobby bar embellished with gold touches and jewel tones.

The Beach Club became a lively celebration hub, where attendees embraced the perfect fusion of exceptional cuisine and a vibrant seaside ambiance, embodying the essence of relaxation and indulgence that defines ZEL Punta Cana.

ZEL Punta Cana offers a balance of well-being and social connection through its renowned Zel Club, a hub where guests can embrace a healthy, active lifestyle.

The club hosts expert-curated weekend retreats blending sports, relaxation, and community engagement, along with seasonal festivals and day parties celebrating the festive Mediterranean spirit.

Weekly programming at Zel Club brings together holistic wellness and entertainment, featuring activities led by renowned fitness and wellness experts.

Guests can also take part in the Fitness Residency, a rotating series of exclusive classes such as running sessions, Pilates, and yoga, open to both hotel guests and the public.

For ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation, the AUA Spa provides a tranquil escape with whirlpool baths, a sauna, steam room, and private treatment rooms offering a range of massages, facials, and body treatments.

Guests can maintain their fitness routines at the gym, either independently or with the guidance of an on-property personal.

The first ZEL opened in 2023 in Mallorca, followed by Costa Brava and Punta Cana. The brand will continue its expansion with upcoming openings in Madrid, Albania, and Sayulita, Mexico.
