Velas announces summer promotions

Velas Resorts Mexico is offering myriad promotions this summer.

Suite upgrades, half off roundtrip airport transfers, resort credits for the boutique and spa, discounted golf, and early checkin and late checkout are among the offers.

For families, kids are free and teens are half off when staying in the same suite as their parents.

An added bonus for bookings made by June 7 is a savings of up to 20 per cent on suite rates.

Promotions are available at the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas resorts in Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos, the sophisticated adults-only Grand Velas Boutique and Casa Velas, the family-friendly Velas Vallarta, and the boutique seaside retreat Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts.

While at Velas Resorts, engaging cultural offerings, eco-tours, memorable photoshoots, as well as experiences like beach picnics, Mexican cooking classes, alebrijes painting and astronomy nights, round out the vacation experience.

Complimentary Kids and Teens Clubs ensure that both age groups have a space to enjoy themselves with peers while participating in fun and age-appropriate activities.

For Grand Velas’ littlest guests, babies are catered to with a Baby Concierge who can coordinate a crib, Mexican toys, baby floats, gentle bath and shampoo gels, and organic foods in advance.

A noteworthy highlight this summer, Cocina de Autor at Grand Velas Los Cabos and Grand Velas Riviera Maya have recently received a MICHELIN star.

Guests staying at these resorts can enjoy an exclusive tasting menu with wine pairing included in the nightly rate.

At the neighbouring Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts, an adults-only boutique hotel and Velas’ only European plan offering, travellers receive a 20 per cent discount on the restaurants and SE Spa at Grand Velas Los Cabos.

At Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta, the highlight this summer is a new Kawitu Experience included in the nightly rate.

The destination tour includes visits to a chocolate factory, Mexican jeweller and the Malecón before embarking on both a tequila tasting and Kawitu ritual with a Huichol shaman.

Rates start at $200 at Velas Vallarta, $361 at Casa Velas, $547 at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, $647 at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, and $748 at Grand Velas Los Cabos.

Rates are per adult per night based on double occupancy and include all-inclusive amenities, such as luxury suite accommodations, gourmet meals and premium beverages.

Rates for children (4-12) start at $85, without the savings applied, while rates for teens (13-17) start at $130 per night.

At Mar del Cabo, nightly room rates start at $315.

Inclusions and nightly rates vary by the hotel. Travellers must book by July 15 for travel through Aug. 31 (Grand Velas Los Cabos and Riviera Maya) or Dec. 18 for all other properties in the group.
