Two new appointments at AIC Hotel Group

AIC Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Carilis Felipe to the newly-created role of director of field sales, and the promotion of Michelle Fariñas to senior weddings department manager, the company announced today (Jan. 22).

Felipe joined AIC Hotel Group nine years ago as a business development manager. She spent her initial years under Ash Tembe's leadership growing travel agent business in her territories.

She was tasked with leading the weddings department under Frank Maduro, ultimately growing AIC Hotel Group's wedding business for North America and increasing revenue for the company, the company stated. 

In her new role as director of field sales, Felipe will lead a team of six regional directors of business development and 11 BDMs in U.S. and Canada to achieve sales targets. Felipe will report directly to Ash Tembe, VP of sales.

Michelle Fariñas is assuming the role of senior weddings department manager at AIC Hotel Group.

Eight years ago, Fariñas joined the company as a wedding sales coordinator, converting leads into hard bookings, which contributed to the company's revenue stream, the company stated. 

In her new role, Fariñas will oversee a sales team of 11, with the goal of growing the weddings and events business within the company, the company stated. Fariñas will report directly to Frank Maduro, VP of Marketing.

Felipe and Fariñas will be leading teams that work directly with Canadian travel agents, who are encouraged to contact their local BDM for more info.
