The Tryall Club reopens in Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa recovery

The Tryall Club in Jamaica officially reopened Dec. 13 following extensive recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa, with more than 70 per cent of villas operational and all core amenities available for the winter season.

The 2,200-acre private luxury resort completed inspections, cleaning and repairs across the property in recent weeks. 

Currently operational: the Beach, Commissary, Restaurants, Tennis Complex & Pro Shop, Fitness Centre, Kids Club and Livity Spa. 

The Golf Course has reopened with modifications to the 4th hole. The Great House remains under restoration.

"Reopening Tryall was never just about restoring buildings; it was about restoring a sense of home and continuity for our guests, our staff, and the wider community," said Kenton Jones, managing director.

High season programming proceeds as planned, including Christmas Reggae Night, New Year's Eve celebrations and Santa's arrival for children.

The Tryall Fund continues mobilizing resources for the surrounding community, providing food, water, emergency supplies and construction materials. 

Guests can donate via PayPal, cheque or directly during their stay, with 100 per cent of donations supporting local recovery.

The Club has intensified training and sanitation protocols to Ministry of Health and Wellness standards. 

The property's onsite water system continues meeting Ministry standards with daily testing, and bottled water is available throughout. 

The Club's partnership with Ambualert provides onsite medical support, emergency response and international transfers if needed, with a full-time nurse station now located near the tennis courts.

Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is fully operational with cleared roads and normal transfer services available. 

The Jamaican government has prioritized tourism's return, recognizing its vital role in community recovery.
