Rebrand in the works for Trump International Toronto

The Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto will undergo a name change, following a deal reached between the new property owners and Trump Hotels.

The CBC reports that property owner JCF Capital has reached an agreement with the hotel chain to buy out the management contracts for the property; although the property has been branded with the Trump name since it opened in 2012, which has been the focus of an ongoing legal battle.

According to a report by Reuters, Marriott International’s St Regis brand is currently the lead bidder to take over management of the property.

Earlier this year, the property was approved for sale and later sold to Juniper Capital Partners and Cowie Capital Partners, after property developer Talon International Inc failed to make payments on construction loans.
