Sunwing's Varadero resorts up and running

Sunwing is reporting that the company's Varadero resorts have reopened following the passage of Hurricane Maria.

Reporting from Varadero last week, Product Director Ana Maria Lopez joined Sunwing Experiences Country Director Alejandro Vazquez to complete a full inspection of more than 30 resorts to assess their readiness to welcome Sunwing guests.

These include Royalton Hicacos, Memories Jibacoa, Memories Varadero, Grand Memories Varadero, Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero, Barcelo Arenas Blancas, Barcelo Solymar, IBEROSTAR Tainos, IBEROSTAR Bella Vista, IBEROSTAR Varadero, IBEROSTAR Alameda, IBEROSTAR Laguna Azul, Melia Las Antillas, Melia Varadero, Melia Marina Varadero, Melia Las Americas, Starfish Varadero, Starfish Cuatro Palmas and Starfish Las Palmas.

During their extensive tour of the area, there was no damage reported to infrastructure; the airport is fully operational, the roads are clean, the restaurants and boutiques are all open, while the beachfront remained pristine.

In addition, almost all Sunwing Experiences tours and excursions are also now available, including day trips to Havana and Sugar, Cigar and Rum tours.
