RIU announces two new hotels in Mauritius
RIU Hotels and Resorts has announced its return to Mauritius with two new hotels in the foothills of the famous Le Morne Brabant.
Riu Palace Mauritius, a four-star superior adults-only hotel with the new and exclusive Elite Club service, is the first RIU Palace hotel opening in the destination.
The four-star Riu Turquoise, on the other hand, is a hotel ideal for a family holiday thanks to its wide variety of services and dining options.
To complete the project, RIU demolished the two previous hotels to build its offerings in Mauritius, a destination it added to its portfolio in 2014, from the ground up.
RIU is currently the only Spanish chain operating in Mauritius.
Both hotels have a total of 700 rooms and offer RIU’s exclusive 24-hour all-inclusive service.
They are also the chain’s most energy-efficient hotels thanks to the 2,418 solar panels installed on their roofs.
The hotels are practically self-sufficient, as the solar panels will occasionally be able to supply 100 per cent of the electricity they need and will cover a significant portion of the supply at other times of day.
Riu Palace Mauritius has 310 rooms and provides guests with access to a wide variety of high-quality culinary options, including its main La Riviere restaurant, with a terrace where guests can enjoy meals outdoors, as well as Asian restaurant Kaori and the gourmet Krystal.
The hotel also has five bars, including patisserie and ice cream shop Capuchino, where guests can enjoy the authentic flavour of a good coffee, and grill Pepe’s Food, where customers will find a wide variety of snacks.
Outside the hotel, there are two pools, including one with a swim-up bar.
Entertainment is guaranteed thanks to the extensive day and evening entertainment program.
With its Elite Club service, it offers the opportunity to book a luxury experience with rooms in a privileged location.
Elite customers will enjoy a welcome gift, an exclusive pool area, a reserved area on the beach and an exclusive restaurant.
With 390 rooms, Riu Turquoise was designed to offer both families and couples an unforgettable experience, as well as extensive and outstanding dining options.
Guests will be able to enjoy the delicacies of the main restaurant La Gaulette, Indian restaurant Bangalore and for grill lovers, the Steakhouse. (The latter two are also available for guests staying at the RIU Palace hotel.)
The hotel also has five bars to choose from: the lobby bar Savanne, the saloon Sega, shared with RIU Palace Mauritius, the Sports Bar, the pool bar Lagoon and grill Pepe’s Food.
Equipped to offer fun and entertainment for all ages, the hotel has two main pools, a third with a bar and a children’s pool for the youngest members of the family, who also have access to RIULand kid’s club.
Water sports are another major draw for the destination, which is why RIU has maintained its successful partnerships with Scuba Caribe and ION Club Mauritius, allowing guests to discover the coast and ocean with the former, and learn to go kitesurfing, windsurfing, or surfing with the latter.
