Riu Ventura opens in Cancun's hotel zone

RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened the Riu Ventura in Cancun's hotel zone, located next to Playa Delfines beach. 

The property operates under RIU's 24-hour all-inclusive concept.

The hotel features 705 rooms, including 36 swim-up rooms on the first floor, the first RIU hotel in Mexico to offer this room category. 

The hotel also includes an adults-only pool and Sky Bar on the sixth floor with panoramic views of the Caribbean, another first for RIU in Mexico.

Dining options include Asian restaurant Kaori, Mexican restaurant Agave, Italian restaurant Rimini, fusion restaurant Kulinarium, a steakhouse and a buffet restaurant with live cooking. 

Two snack stations, Pepe's Food serving grilled food and Tiki Tako offering Mexican tacos, are also available. 

The Sports Bar features an American-country concept with à la carte American favourites and 24-hour drinks and snacks. 

The hotel has six bars total.

The property features four outdoor swimming pools on the ground floor and a water play area. 

Amenities include a gym, Renova Spa offering treatments and massages and the RIU Land kids' club with supervised activities. 

The hotel offers daytime and evening entertainment programming for all ages.

Guests at the Riu Ventura have access to RIU Party events held at the nearby Hotel Riu Caribe. 

Four weekly themed events include the White Party, Jungle Party, Pink Party and Neon Party.

The opening brings RIU's Cancun portfolio to six hotels. 

The chain operates six properties in Playa del Carmen and three in Costa Mujeres, for a total of 15 hotels in Quintana Roo and 23 in Mexico. 

RIU employs more than 12,600 people in Mexico.

The company has announced 2026 plans including refurbishments of the Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun and the Hotel Riu Palace México in Playa del Carmen, as well as construction of the Hotel Riu Palace Quintana Roo in Costa Mujeres.
