Playa heads back to Cancun, Playa del Carmen & the Riviera Maya for bilingual FAM

Playa heads back to Cancun, Playa del Carmen & the Riviera Maya for bilingual FAM

Some 14 Canadian travel advisors recently participated in a FAM to Mexico organized by Playa Hotels and Resorts.

The group was accompanied by Christopher Jeffrey Racine, business development manager for Playa, who noted it was the first time it organized and coordinated a bilingual FAM, representing well the region he oversees, which extends from the Atlantic provinces to the Ottawa region and includes Québec.

Coming from Quebec, Ottawa and New Brunswick, the educational tour participants visited the nine establishments operated by Playa in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

“Despite the group’s differences in spoken languages, I saw agents open up, mingle and work so that we all had a great time together!” said Racine.

“We had a fiery atmosphere and everyone participated!”

Racine agrees that he had to play translator before and during the FAM, but also insists he is “really proud to have been able to plan this trip for talented agents who want to learn!”

He also points out that Playa has been “really in growth mode” for the past two years.

“Among our new 2023 developments in Mexico are the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun and its nine swimming pools, the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and its sublime beach, and the Seadust, with its two water parks and family suites,” he says.

Racine notes that Playa’s growing portfolio continues to diversify, with the addition of several 4-star properties, like the Jewels of Punta Cana, the Seadust and the Wyndham ALLTRA.

This makes Playa’s attention to detail and quality accommodation “more accessible than ever,” he says.

What came up the most in the agents’ comments was the quality of the Playa service and the food, as well as the special attention offered to customers.

“We focus on the details so that our customers’ trips are more than just a vacation, but a memorable experience,” he concludes.
