Playa announces new BDMs for Ontario, Quebec & Atlantic Canada
Playa Hotels & Resorts is welcoming new members to its Canadian team.
Effective Monday (Jan. 16), Christopher Jeffrey-Racine will be business development manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada and Andi Bacho will step into the role of business development manager for Ontario.
Jeffrey-Racine and Bacho come with more than 30 years of combined travel industry experience in various segments.
Montreal-based Jeffrey-Racine started his career in travel with Transat Holidays as a commercial delegate and destination representative in the Dominican Republic.
When he returned to Canada, he began his journey as a BDM in the Quebec market with Transat Holidays and most recently Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
He can be reached at Christopher.jeffreyracine@playaresorts.com.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Playa family and returning to my first love of business development on the road! Their broad and exquisite range of hotels is truly exciting, and I can't wait to show them to the agents, whom I also look forward to seeing again! In the last thirteen years, I have gained representation experience and developed some great partnerships. Back on the road, I want to continue to reach out and meet with agencies and their teams," Jeffrey-Racine said.
He takes on a role at Playa that was previously held by Christian Roussin, who announced his departure from the company in December to pursue a position at Royal Caribbean International.
Bacho started her career in Santiago, Chile as a travel advisor and then transitioned to a Bilingual Customer Service Rep for Air France at the Santiago International Airport.
She continued her work in travel over the past 20 years in Ontario in various customer-facing roles including her most recent role as travel advisor at LatitudesPlus Smart Travel.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Playa Family at an exciting time in the company's growth. I look forward to leveraging my experience in service & travel to provide support to Travel advisors, create new relationships and to continue to look for new areas of growth, across Ontario," Bacho said.
She can can be at andi.bacho@playaresorts.com.
The update comes as Playa Resorts expands its portfolio with the recent openings of Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, Jewel Punta Cana and Jewel Palm Beach.
"Playa Hotels and Resorts recognizes the importance of working with our travel agency community and believe the additional support that Christopher and Andi will bring to the Canada market will allow me the opportunity to ensure the Canadian team continues to have a strong and focused presence in the industry," said Amanda Morris, director of sales for Canada at Playa.
