Marriott to increase hotels in Africa by 50% by 2023
Marriott International is planning to increase its hotels in Africa by 50 percent in the next five years, expanding its presence in Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and new markets, Reuters reports.
From the African Hotel Investment Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, the global hotel chain announced its plans to open 200 hotels and 38,000 rooms in Africa by 2023.
The Bethesda, Maryland-based company is already present in 21 African countries. By 2023, it will have expanded into new markets including Benin, Botswana, Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Mozambique and Senegal.
