Jamaica is back: Royalton reopens all five resorts after major refresh
Royalton Hotels & Resorts has reopened its complete Jamaica portfolio, bringing five resorts in Negril and Montego Bay back into operation following the impact of Hurricane Melissa last year, and significant upgrades to accommodations, public spaces and the overall guest experience.
Royalton Negril, Royalton Hideaway Negril and Grand Lido Negril are once again welcoming guests on Jamaica’s west coast, while Royalton Blue Waters and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters have reopened in Montego Bay.
Across the five properties, Royalton has introduced redesigned guestrooms and suites that pair a contemporary look with Jamaican-inspired elements. Public spaces and resort environments have also been refreshed as part of the investment.
Technology plays a major role in the revamped guest experience. Interactive in-room televisions and high-speed Wi-Fi are available throughout the resorts and extend to beach areas, while each property’s app allows guests to connect with resort teams, contact a concierge, order room service, browse activities and access resort information from their devices.
Royalton plans to expand those digital services in the coming months with the introduction of an interactive AI concierge designed to provide guests with instant assistance and information during their stay.
The upgrades also extend to the pre-arrival experience. Royalton’s Online Room Selection allows travellers to choose their preferred room ahead of arrival and begin the pre-check-in process before reaching the resort.
Three resorts return in Negril
In Negril, Royalton’s three-property collection caters to a range of travellers, from families and multigenerational groups to adults seeking an adults-only or au naturel getaway.
Royalton Negril features nine restaurants, seven bars, multiple swimming pools, a children’s splash park and extensive sports and fitness facilities. The beachfront property also offers pickleball courts, kids’ programming, recreation and entertainment, including live performances and productions at its large outdoor theatre.
Royalton Hideaway Negril provides an adults-only alternative while giving guests access to the amenities at neighbouring Royalton Negril through the brand’s Book 1, Enjoy 2 concept. Together, the resorts offer 12 bars and 12 restaurants, while Hideaway guests have dedicated beach areas, oceanfront pools and swim-out suites.
Grand Lido Negril rounds out the company’s presence in the destination with an intimate adults-only, au naturel resort in a private beachfront setting.
Royalton Blue Waters resorts reopen
In Montego Bay, Royalton Blue Waters and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters have also returned to operation, offering family-friendly and adults-only experiences, respectively.
Royalton Blue Waters features nine restaurants, seven bars, multiple pools, a lazy river, pirate-themed water park, kids’ club and teen disco nights. The resort also offers The Royal Spa, Royalton FIT, water activities and an outdoor theatre with nightly productions.
Nearby, Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters offers an adults-only experience with 352 suites, dedicated adults-only spaces and a private islet just offshore.
Its Book 1, Enjoy 2 concept gives guests access to neighbouring Royalton Blue Waters, bringing the combined offering to 12 restaurants and 11 bars.
Royalton has also restored sustainability infrastructure at the Jamaican properties. Solar panels at Royalton Negril and Royalton Blue Waters have been reinstalled and are expected to generate more than 634,000 kWh of renewable energy annually.
During the resorts’ closure, infrastructure at the properties was also used to support emergency water and electricity needs as surrounding communities worked through recovery efforts.
Royalton CHIC Jamaica coming in 2027
Royalton is already preparing to further expand its Jamaican footprint with Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove, an adults-only lifestyle resort scheduled to open in summer 2027.
The property will mark the Jamaica debut of the Royalton CHIC Resorts brand and will introduce a more social and design-focused offering to the company’s portfolio on the island.
Reservations are now available for all five reopened resorts as well as the upcoming Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove.
