Iberostar Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its international footprint with the opening of two new hotels in Miami: Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore and Iberostar Waves Miami Beach, both located in South Beach.

The two properties, which mark Iberostar's return to the city, offer premium accommodation under the Iberostar Waves brand.

2024 was a pivotal year in the transformation and evolution of Iberostar’s hotel portfolio, the company said in a press release.

“These openings represent a key milestone in our expansion strategy. Located in a world-renowned destination, close to the sea, and offering the high-quality services that are a hallmark of Iberostar, both properties exemplify our efforts to deliver a refreshed value proposition whilst promoting a model of responsible tourism," said Phil McAveety, CEO of Iberostar, in a statement.

Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore, which started to operate under the Iberostar Waves segment in December, is located in a 1940s building that retains its Art Deco architecture.

The property offers 96 rooms, a heated pool, a rooftop solarium with sea views, and a specialty restaurant. Meanwhile, Iberostar Waves Miami Beach has become an Iberostar Waves in January 2025 and it features 82 rooms.

This hotel is ideal for both families and business travelers, thanks to its meeting room and proximity to the Miami Convention Centre. Both hotels incorporate energy efficiency improvements and sustainable practices in line with the chain’s sustainability goals.

The two new hotels are steps away from the beach and key landmarks, including Lincoln Road Mall, the New World Center, home to the renowned New World Symphony; and the Ocean Drive in South Beach, among other notable points in the city.

These openings joined JOIA Aruba by Iberostar that opened in December, along with two new hotels set to open in April 2025: Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet in Tunisia and Iberostar Selection Es Trenc in Mallorca.
