Hola Sun provides Cuba hotel update

Cuba specialist Hola Sun/Caribe Sol has compiled all of the official press releases issued by Cuban hotel companies, detailing the status of each property following Hurricane Irma.

Gaviota Group

• Havana: All hotels are operational
• Holguin: All the hotels are operational
• Varadero: All hotels are operational with the exception of Paradisus Varadero and Ocean El Patriarca
• Cayo Santa Maria: Hotels are not operational until further notice.
• Cayo Coco: Hotels are not operational until further notice.

Meliá Cuba

• Havana: All hotels are operational
• Holguin: All hotels are operational
• Santiago de Cuba: All hotels are operational
• Cayo Largo: the Sol Cayo Largo is operational
• Varadero: The majority of the company's hotels here have suffered minor damage and will be fully operational soon with the exception of Paradisus Varadero, which still requires repairs. Melia Cuba also said yesterday that the Melia Peninsula Varadero would remain closed during construction.
• Cayo Santa Maria: Hotels are not operational until further notice
• Cayo Coco: Hotels are not operational until further notice.

Cubanacan

• Holguin: All the hotels are operational

• Santiago de Cuba: All hotels are operational

• Santa Lucia:
• • Bravo Caracol: Reopening scheduled on18 / 09/2017
• • Club Amigo Mayanabo: Reopening scheduled for 21/09/2017
• • Roc Santa Lucia: Reopening scheduled for 24/09/2017
• • Brisas Santa Lucia: Reopening scheduled for 28/09/2017
• Cayo Coco: Hotels are not operational until further notice
• Cayo Santa Maria: Hotels are not operational until further notice
• Trinidad: All hotels are operational
• Varadero: All the hotels are operational
• Havana: All hotels are operational, with the exception of Hotel Tropicoco and Chateau Miramar.

Blau

• Holguin: Blau Costa Verde and Plus section are operational
• Varadero: Blau Varadero is closed for repairs; the company has not issued a statement on the Blau Marina Varadero.

Earlier this week, Hola Sun said that it has cancelled flights into Cayo Coco and Cayo Santa Maria from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1.
