Four Seasons to open Rio de Janeiro hotel in 2029

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open Four Seasons Hotel Rio de Janeiro at Leblon in 2029, marking the luxury brand's return to Brazil.

The property will be developed in partnership with real estate asset management firm Catuaí Asset, which will renovate the existing Hotel Marina Palace building. 

The hotel will occupy Leblon's tallest building and feature approximately 120 rooms and suites with ocean views.

"We are excited to introduce Four Seasons to Rio de Janeiro as we continue to intentionally expand our portfolio in South America and mark our return to Brazil," said Alejandro Reynal, president and CEO of Four Seasons.

The hotel will include multiple dining venues, a rooftop bar and pool, spa and wellness facilities and beachfront activities. 

The property is located 30 minutes from Galeão International Airport.

The Rio de Janeiro property joins Four Seasons' growing South American portfolio, which includes hotels in Buenos Aires, two properties in Bogotá (Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá and Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogotá) and Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena, opening in 2026.
