A new home-based host agency program has emerged in Alberta, PAX has learned.

AMA Travel, a retail travel agency, has launched “Escape Artist by AMA Travel,” a new home-based, contractor travel agent program that “combines the flexibility of business ownership with the benefits, trusted reputation, and valuable partnerships.”

According to a press release, the model is ideal for established travel agents who want to work from home, as well as trained agents just starting their industry journey or newly-retired travel professionals looking to supplement their income and stay connected to the industry.

Escape Artists will receive a “wealth of resources” to help them grow their business and “affirm themselves as trusted agents in Alberta’s home-based travel market,” the company stated.

In addition to partnerships with preferred suppliers, exclusive pricing, competitive compensation, and industry discounts, benefits, and FAM trips, the company is also promising operational support and marketing tools, such as a personal website, complete with an advanced booking engine, headshot and biography.

“This is a great way for Alberta-based agents to link their personal company with AMA’s industry-leading reputation, CAA/AAA deals, and strong supplier partnerships,” said Nikola Berube, director of sales and member services, in the release.

“Our Escape Artists enjoy the freedom of working from home—focusing on the products and destinations that excite them—along with the competitive advantage of being affiliated with AMA, a brand that’s consistently rated one of the most trusted in Canada.”
