Disney's Pixar Place Hotel to open in January
Room rendering of Pixar Place Hotel (Disney)

Disneyland Resort has announced that Pixar Place Hotel will open Jan. 30.

The event marks the official transformation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel into the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the U.S.

When its lobby is complete, guests will see unique art inspired by Pixar films and be greeted by the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball and a mobile of Pixar characters floating from the skylight above.

The mobile will depict the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking, when animators create the characters’ designs with their most basic shapes and colors.

Guest rooms will include whimsical nods to the iconic animation studio, including pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball and lighting reminiscent of the Pixar Lamp.

Some of the art in the rooms was also created by Pixar Animation Studios artists especially for Pixar Place Hotel.

The headboards will consist of concept art from a variety of Pixar features, including The Incredibles and Toy Story 3.

Maple bacon doughnuts at Great Maple restaurant (Disney)

Great Maple restaurant will open its ground-floor flagship eatery in November, offering items such as Cajun shrimp and cheddar biscuit benedict, soda pop-braised baby back ribs, charred cauliflower hummus, maple pecan-crusted salmon, buttermilk fried chicken and maple bacon doughnuts.

A few weeks later, Great Maple will also open the new Sketch Pad Café grab-and-go coffee shop in the lobby and Small Bytes rooftop pool bar.
