Disney is opening a nature-themed resort in Florida
A new 900-room Disney Vacation Club property is coming to Walt Disney World, the theme park announced recently.
The deluxe resort, which will be themed to complement its natural surroundings, will be built on Bay Lake between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort. The property will include more than 900 hotel rooms and proposed Disney Vacation Club villas spread across a variety of unique accommodation types, the company said.
The soon-to-be named resort is slated to be Disney’s 16th Disney Vacation Club property.
Hotel openings to watch in 2019
The Bay Lake project is one of several new hotels coming from Disney in Florida.
A new 15-storey tower with 545 rooms and a rooftop restaurant will open at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in 2019. The company said the 1,800 existing rooms have been renovated with new equipment, new furnishings and a palette of colors that connect the entire complex.
The Riviera Resort, a Disney Vacation Club property under construction near Epcot, is expected to open in 2019 with 300 units.
A Star Wars-themed hotel will be built next to Disney's Hollywood Studios' famous Star Wars theme park, opening in autumn 2019.
