Dery joins Melia Cuba as weddings manager

Melia Cuba Hotels & Resorts has welcomed Stephanie Dery as the company’s new weddings manager for Canada.

Based in Montreal, Dery began her career as a flight attendant for Air Canada for four summer seasons as she completed a degree in communication at the Université de Montréal.

She later joined Voyages Bergeron as a travel consultant, where she worked for more than 10 years, followed by a role with the Galland Group, serving as the company’s events manager. In 2012, Dery was recognized in LogiMonde media’s Awards of Excellence as Travel Agent of the Year.

"I worked in an agency and I know the client's requirements,” Dery told PAX. “I think this experience will be an asset for the travel agents who will contact me. At Meliá Cuba, we organize many weddings in-destination and I think it's a strength for us to offer a point of contact in Canada.”

In addition, Melia Cuba has also released a pair of videos following renovations at its properties following Hurricane Maria in September, featuring feedback from Canadian travellers visiting the property this fall.
