Couples Resorts: guests/staff safe, hotels not accepting new arrivals through Nov. 15

Couples Resorts in Negril and Ocho Rios says that all of its guests and team members following Hurricane Melissa, which hit Jamaica as a Category 5 storm on Oct. 28. 

“Our resorts experienced minimal impact, and thanks to our dedicated teams, working tirelessly and cheerfully, operations are steadily returning to normal,” the hotel wrote in a notice Friday (Oct. 31).

The brand noted that all guests have access to water, electricity, Wi-Fi, food, and essential services, while caring staff remain on property to ensure everyone’s well-being and comfort.

Guests are also being served hot meals and full hospitality services as the company continues assessments and supports everyone through a “transitional moment.”

“While a full assessment of the island is being done to ensure we can safely receive guests and provide services, we will not be accepting new arrivals through November 15, 2025,” the company said. 

For clients with existing bookings through Nov. 15, Couples will waive any applicable change or cancellation fees.

Guests scheduled to arrive after November 15, may revise or reschedule their stay without penalty through December 24, 2025, or choose a travel credit valid for one year from their original arrival date.
