Club Med Québec Charlevoix, union reach deal through 2029

Club Med Québec Charlevoix and the union affiliated with the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) representing approximately 300 employees have reached a new collective agreement that will remain in effect until April 29, 2029.

The parties state that the agreement is the result of several months of negotiations conducted in what they describe as a respectful and constructive atmosphere.

They add that the agreement allows them to look to the future with confidence and reaffirms their commitment to the Charlevoix region.

“We are pleased to have reached this agreement in a constructive environment. It reflects the commitment of all parties to finding balanced and sustainable solutions. We thank our employees as well as the union representatives for their continued efforts throughout the process,” said Vincent Giraud, vice president of Club Med Canada, in a statement originally written in French.

“Significant gains” for workers

According to the CSN, union members approved the new collective agreement by a margin of 90 per cent.

Alexandre Filiatrault, vice president of the CSN’s Commerce Federation, emphasized that the agreement includes “significant gains” for workers.

“Members voted 90 per cent in favour of this collective agreement, which contains significant gains for everyone. The members themselves developed their collective agreement proposal and were in control of the entire process,” he said.
