Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is set to host a 50th Anniversary celebration, which will be marked with a calendar of festivities and special events.

Happening from Oct. 24-27, the program will host two "Grammy award-winning concerts" in its Altos de Chavon Amphitheatre, a concert party and fireworks extravaganza at the Minitas Beach Club, and a $50,000 “Hole-in-One Competition” on Dye Fore and Teeth of the Dog.

The “Hole-in-One Competition” on Dye Fore and Teeth of the Dog are open to all guests of the resort while playing their rounds of golf on Oct. 25 and 26, respectively, pending available tee times.

Both days offer a chance to win $50,000 with each golfer trying their luck for a hole-in-one on the par-3 No. 12 on Dye Fore and the par-3 No. 16 on Teeth of the Dog, a famous ocean hole.

The weekend celebration will also be accompanied by a “Golden Anniversary Package,” a limited-time promotion for guests running through the end of 2025.

The four-day, three-night offering is highlighted by accommodations in the resort’s new Premier Suites at The Premier Club, a 50-minute treatment at the only “Forbes 4-Star” spa in the Dominican Republic, a 50-minute golf lesson at the Golf Learning Center, 50-minute tennis, pickleball, or lesson at the Racquet Center, 50-minute horseback riding lesson, 50-cartridge sporting clay session, 50th-anniversary limited edition gift bag and complimentary access to the 50th anniversary celebration.

Rates for the 50th Anniversary begin at $750 (per day, per guest, double occupancy).

"Five decades of being recognized as the leading golf destination in the Caribbean is something we do not take for granted and we are humbled to celebrate our illustrious history,” said Jason Kycek, chief marketing officer of the property. “We look forward to cherishing this moment over the next year and creating an even better experience for travelers from around the world for the next 50 years as well.”

Golf course regeneration

Beginning in January 2025, Casa de Campo will begin its first major regeneration of its golf source, Teeth of the Dog. The work will be highlighted by a complete regrassing of the layout, shaping each green back to their original size and all greenside bunkers will be reshaped and expanded.

Other work includes renovating the cart paths. Teeth of the Dog is currently scheduled to reopen November 2025.

Casa de Campo, located in La Romana, opened in the 1970s as an expansive offering in the region.

Evolving into a 7,000-acre private gated community with its own international La Romana Airport and marina, as well as world-renowned sports and activities, it rapidly became an oasis for discerning homeowners and vacationers.

Golf architect Pete Dye designed courses; other offerings found throughout the grounds include an equestrian centre, a shooting centre, a racquet centre, and the Altos de Chavon artist village, which hosts events and showcases the area’s history of art through the Altos de Chavón School of Design.

"Throughout the last five decades, Casa de Campo has consistently established itself as the epitome of luxury hospitality in the Dominican Republic and has continued to evolve into the world-renowned resort community that it is today." stated Kycek. "We are immensely honored to commemorate this 50-year milestone, and are excited to share the historical past, present, and future of Casa de Campo with the world. Casa de Campo is a special place, and we are grateful to the ownership for their ongoing commitment to continue to make it even more special in the years to come.”

Casa de Campo, over the years, has hosted numerous celebrity guests, including Oscar de la Renta, Boris Johnson, the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez, and Martha Stewart.

Villas & golf

Today, Casa de Campo’s villas remain popular for golf groups and families. The villa options range from three to 11 bedrooms with stylish living areas, a private pool as well as endless creature comforts.

From secluded Garden Villas highlighting the area’s abundant flora to the tranquil splendor of the Caribbean coast in an Oceanfront Villa, each style offers contemporary designs.

The resort’s Golf Learning Centre, with Trackman and BODITRAK technology,  features two indoor hitting bays, year-round training, individual and group golf lessons and schools, and expert club-fitting and repair.

Residing on 21 acres of pure grass, the PGA Tour-quality facility also showcases practice greens for honing putting, chipping, and pitching skills as well as unlimited use of the pristine outdoor range for full shots. On-course instruction is also available.
