Barceló Hotel Group to purchase hotel in Mexico City

The Barceló Hotel Group has signed an agreement, subject to terms and government approval, for the purchase of a 5-star hotel with 500 rooms in the Avenida Reforma in Mexico City.

Barceló México Reforma is expected to form part of the company this August once the pending terms and government approvals have been resolved. The establishment was completely renovated in 2015, and includes a buffet restaurant, steakhouse restaurant, lobby bar, sports bar and lounge.

“Although we already have a strong presence in Mexico and it has taken us some time to reach the capital, we are proud to establish our presence here with such an emblematic hotel,” said Miguel Ángel Guardado, managing director of the Barceló Hotel Group in Mexico.

“It will be a pleasure to show the Mexican market our extensive expertise in the urban hospitality industry, which we have been developing over the course of many years in major Latin American and European cities,” he added. “We are going to do this with our classic brand, Barceló, which will enable us to transform Barceló México Reforma into a reference for quality and exclusiveness where guests can enjoy exciting and unforgettable experiences.”
