Bahia Principe to open luxury island resort in the D.R. in June 2023

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts’ is entering the luxury hotel market with Cayo Levantado Resort, which is set to start welcoming guests on June 1, 2023. The island resort is now open for reservations.  

Located on the island of Cayo Levantado, just a few miles away from Samaná Bay, this completely rebranded and renovated property will invite guests to discover the uncharted syncopations of the Dominican Republic through its “A Rhythm All Its Own” concept.

Cayo Levantado Resort promises a “expertly curated, distinctly Dominican, and decidedly authentic experience.”

This project not only adds value to the tourism sector, but also contributes to the development of the country and the local community.” 

With this project as a flagship, Bahia said it is evolving its business as it enters the luxury hotel management segment with the aim of improving its offer and adding value to the tourism sector.

Cayo Levantado will also incorporate talent from the Dominican Republic to enhance the economic and social development of the area.

Three “incredibly sandy” beaches

The island is made up of three incredible sandy and palm-fringed beaches, one being open to the public and two that are exclusively for guests staying at Cayo Levantado Resort.

Under the concept A Rhythm All Its Own, Cayo Levantado invites guests to discover the creative and architectural design of the resort, which will be based on three pillars:

Local Culture: Local interior designers, architects and professionals took part in the development of the area, above all by integrating their local culture in all areas, including gastronomy and mixology.

Sustainability: Waste management strategies and renewable energy through a biodigester will be implemented, making this a self-sufficient property. In addition, gardening, and landscaping with native species of the island will be used.

Wellness: Promoted in a more integrative perspective, the wellness experience will be reflected in all spaces and services.

Quality & exclusivity

Cayo Levantado Resort will have more than 200 rooms of different categories that make up the hotel.

The resort will also offer two swimming pools, two spas (including a jungle spa), an outdoor CrossFit area, a beach club, a personal training studio, a beauty salon, botanic garden, a wide range of entertainment activities and an exclusive area focused on wellness.

As part of the carefully selected all-inclusive gastronomic offer, guests may choose from three à la carte restaurants, one buffet restaurant, four bars and a coffee shop.

Two additional specialty restaurants give visitors exciting dining options outside the all-inclusive offerings.
