ACTA hosts sold-out Western Canada travel industry summit
The ACTA Western Canada Travel Industry Summit opened Thursday (Sept. 18) in Richmond, B.C. to a sold-out audience of 300 travel advisors and 75 exhibitors — making it the largest ACTA event in Western Canada to date.
“Last week’s Eastern Canada Travel Industry Summit in Toronto was an outstanding success, filled with energy, collaboration, learning and engagement that set the stage for an exciting season ahead. Today, we are thrilled to bring that momentum to Western Canada, where our sold-out Summit is a true testament to the passion and dedication of our members. Their enthusiasm highlights the strength of our community and inspires us as we work together to build a stronger, more resilient travel industry," said Suzanne Acton-Gervais, president of ACTA in a release.
The Summit was presented with the support of major sponsors Air Canada & Air Canada Vacations, Manulife, and Globus. Featured destination sponsors include the Tourist Office of Spain, which brought along dynamic Flamenco dancers, and Brand USA.
Keynote Address – enhancing accessibility in travel
The keynote address was delivered by Kerianne Wilson, Air Canada’s Director of Customer Accessibility, who spoke about the importance of accessibility and the latest enhancements in air travel.
Wilson provided valuable insights into the current landscape of accessible travel, highlighted innovative strategies and dedicated efforts, and placed these developments in the broader Canadian context. Advisors were left with knowledge and tools that are essential for better supporting clients with disabilities.
Following the Western Canada Summit, ACTA will head to Montreal for the ACTA Quebec Canada Travel Industry Summit at the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel on October 1.
